![]() But when my customer applied the Meguiar's #9 to the guitar, following the instructions, it rubbed a large dull spot on the finish. I use the Meguiar's on all of my guitars as a final clean up of fingerprints and final shine. I believe that many luthiers use one or the other of these products on French Polish, as an alternative to aggressive machine polishing. This product is almost identical to NOVUS #2, except that I have found it rubs off easier and brings up the shine just a tad better than the NOVUS #2. (They weren't there when I shipped it.) Because he lives too far away from me, and the shipping is expensive (and any shipping is risky), I asked him if he would try polishing the back with Meguiar's #9 Swirl Remover polish. A customer to whom I recent shipped a guitar complained that there were some cloudy spots on the French Polished back when he received the guitar.
